OUR PUPPY HOME

Life in northwest Wisconsin is good!  We live on 28 acres, surrounded by woods and fields; a perfect place in every season for raising our beautiful Doodles.  Our momma dogs have lots of room to explore and have plenty of space for games and exercise. Our puppies spend most of their time in our home, but are exposed to the outdoors during their last week with us.

When not enjoying the outdoors, our dogs share our hearth and home, entertaining us with their antics, warming our feet on cold winter nights, and sharing in the companionship that is so special with a dog.

PARENTS

Our Doodle parents are the best! We love all of them as each is unique and brings a different ”flavor” to our family. They were each chosen for their great Doodle temperaments, have been cleared for any genetic issues through Embark, and at two years, have cleared OFA screenings for hips and elbows. Each has come from known long lines of health and soundness!

And of course, they are all super cute!

PUPPIES

Puppies! There’s just something about them that brings great joy!  And with patience and training, a puppy will grow into a companion like no other, sharing loyalty and unconditional love.

This is our passion at Heart of the North Doodles and we seek to provide adaptable and confident pups who are eager to please and ready to enjoy their new life and family. We do this by “empowering” our pups, which is accomplished through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), and controlled exposure to sights, sounds, puzzles, and experiences. We also make sure they get plenty of love and nurturing by people of different ages, size, gender, and voice.

Before going home they go through temperament testing, are conditioned for night-time crates and are started on early potty training. They will have had their recommended wormings, vaccinations, are microchipped, and come with a 2-year genetic health warranty.

EDUCATION & RESOURCES

At Heart of the North Doodles, we want both puppies and families to have the best possible life together!  Planning and preparation makes this easier. Fun decisions about names & collar choices, as well as the more serious considerations of responsibilities, training methods, crate location, food choices, and who's going to be in charge are all best done in the "wait time" before bringing the puppy home. In doing so, everyone will know their tasks and can make the addition of a puppy joyful and smooth.

We hope to make some of these decisions easier by providing the materials and suggestions linked on the following page.

If there are questions about any of these resources, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

PHILOSOPHY & ADOPTION PROCESS

Our “philosophy” is simply a commitment.  We make every effort to be the best breeder we can be.  As we believe the decision to add a puppy to your home is an important one, we strive to reduce some of the worry during your selection process, hence, giving you “peace of mind.”

We do our research and compare our practices with new science and methodologies to see if they are superior in any way and then make adjustments accordingly. We currently feel we are doing everything a breeder can do to ensure that the puppy you adopt from us will not have any known genetic issues and has been encouraged and empowered to be as confident and well-adjusted as it can be for its given personality and age.

We also commit to being honest in all of our assessments and communications.  You matter. The puppy matters. Having accurate information to make the best decisions matters.

This is a labor of love for us. We know and have experienced all the joy and gifts that a dog can bring to our lives. We simply commit to the process of sharing these gifts with you as best we know how.
